Research

The Swedish Museum of Natural History conducts research in geosciences, paleobiology, zoology, botany, mycology, and bioinformatics, based on our extensive collections. Genetic and morphological analyses are conducted to discover new species and understand phylogenetic relationships.

We also map the Earth's history to understand the geological processes that shape our world. Analyses of large amounts of data lay the foundation for many parts of our research.
